PCHUM BEN DAY

Pchum Ben is one of Cambodia’s most important religious festivals, dedicated to honoring ancestors and departed relatives. During this 15-day Buddhist observance, Cambodian families visit pagodas to offer food, prayers, and merit-making ceremonies. Bon Om Touk, Cambodia’s Water Festival, celebrates the annual reversal of the Tonle Sap River and marks the end of the rainy season. The festival features exciting boat races, traditional performances, illuminated floats, and lively celebrations. While the largest festivities take place in Phnom Penh, communities around Siem Reap and the Angkor region also participate in cultural events that showcase Cambodia’s rich heritage and connection to its waterways.
